Thee Marshmallow Overcoat are playing in Brunswick next week

Thee Marshmallow Overcoat - not to be confused with the US garage pioneers - are a cult favourite trio in the Melbourne scene and they're playing the Brunswick Ballroom on Wednesday February 15.

They’ve already let us know they plan on playing tributes to the late great Jeff Beck and David Crosby at their Brunswick gig, so head down for a blast from the past that really couldn’t be more timely.

Christened Thee Marshmallow Overcoat during their first gig Ashley Naylor, Davey Lane and Brett Wolfenden all have an intrinsic passion for ’60s R&B, garage, freakbeat and psychedelia. The list of artists for whom they span include The Stooges, The Yardbirds, The Who, The Easybeats, The Small Faces, The Kinks, Manfred Mann, The Byrds and much more.

This trio’s roots formed as an offshoot to backing the late Masters Apprentice Jim Keays, who they had recorded and performed live with. The reputations of the band members speak for themselves. As members of well-established bands, they have extended their talents to the likes of artists such as Todd Rundgren, Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Deniz Tek and Robyn Hitchcock but to name a few.

Thee Marshmallow Overcoat will perform for over two hours in this intimate setting.
