The Swanston St favourite has a big July lined up.
The Toff is our go-to CBD party location and the long-standing Swanston St venue has a big July in store. There are all-night parties featuring the cream of the Naarm DJ scene, a night of soundsystem-led bass worship, stand-up comedy, and local live music.
The bar will be mixing custom cocktails and serving all the classics, so get down to The Toff if you want to stay warm this July.

On the first Wednesday of July, The Toff launches its new weekly social dance club, The Toff Mambo. Touted as an “an opportunity to explore the rich sounds of Latin music,” the night will begin with classes in a variety of Latin dance styles, including salsa, boogaloo, mambo, and cha cha cha. Once the classes wrap up, the floor opens to all, with the soundtrack provided by DJs including Eddy Milfort, Zafiro and more.

Clôture is a Melbourne event series built for original music producers, live performers and vinyl culture. Born from a scene dominated by DJs, it gives producers a platform to showcase their own work and keeps analogue sound alive in a digital world.

Downbeat is the Toff’s bimonthly night of smooth house for the late-night crowd. JXN Miles will be slinging pop edits in the opening set. Mia Wallace is in the middle slot, playing 90s house with a hint of trance. Girl Whatever will bring it home from 2-4am, playing tracks that appeal to both mainstream and underground tastes, all presented with style and humour.

Hyperbloom founder Madarasi is playing his first headline show, backed up by a bunch of his favourite local DJs. The lineup features Okii, Jkongerz, and Mohit. R, with Madarasi in the primetime slot. London-based comedian Gilli Apter brings her hilarious, deep, amazing comedy show to Melbourne on 31 July. It’s a show about the past, future, and “everything that’s on your mind,” says Apter. She’ll be delving into AI, ADHD, identity, politics, and her personal story. If that sounds a bit heavy, Apter promises there’ll be enough laughs to stop you noticing you’re having a nervous breakdown.
