The Strokes just launched their own pirate radio show, because why not?

The radio show is titled 5guys talking about things they know nothing about.

The Strokes’ new album, The New Abnormal, hits the shelves tomorrow and because they can’t be promoting the record on late-night TV, through radio interviews or by playing shows, the legendary rockers have launched their own pirate radio show.

Titled 5guys talking about things they know nothing about, the show is actually as it sounds – Julian Casablancas, Nick Valensi, Albert Hammond Jr, Nikolai Fraiture and Fabrizio Moretti just chilling in their respective homes talking shit.

If Moretti’s head isn’t morphing into the painting behind him or Valensi isn’t errantly playing the chords of Comedown Machine’s ’50/50′ on a miniature keyboard, then Hammond Jr is just casually sipping a cup of tea, providing off-hand intellectual gems when appropriate.

It’s a bit of everything about nothing but provides an interesting insight into how the band operates on a casual level. The first episode was just recorded via Zoom and went for 17 minutes.
