Alt-folk star Reb Fountain is heading to Melbourne for what's set to be a spell-bounding show at Brunswick Ballroom on Thursday June 2.

The San Francisco born, New Zealand raised, Reb Fountain is an award winning singer-songwriter who is known for her captivating performances. With a sound not dissimilar to Patti Smith, Florence and the Machine or Kate Bush but with stunning originality, Reb Fountain is making her Melbourne debut at Brunswick Ballroom on Thursday June 2.

Alongside her all-star band, which contains Dave Khan, Karin Canzek and Earl Robertson, Reb Fountain has played support for the likes of Nick Cave on his sold out Auckland Town Hall show The Boy Next Door as well as joining Crowded House on their To The Island Tour.

With her 2020 self-titled album winning the 2021 Taite Music Prize as well as five New Zealand Music Awards; Album of the Year, Best Alternative, Best Solo Artist, Best Album Artwork and Best Engineer. Her song Don’t You Know Who I Am, from the same album, was shortlisted for the Silver Scroll award.

From Lyttelton, the same quiet port town out of Christchurch that raised artists like her friends Marlon Williams, Aldous Harding, and Delaney Davidson, Reb Fountain has emerged as a stellar alt-folk artist. With her latest album, IRIS, elevating her music to new heights by combining her trademark noir funk-punk with pop elements, her Melbourne debut at the Brunswick Ballroom is not one to be missed.
