They played Fed Square as support act for the infamous Amyl and the Sniffers show that didn’t go ahead, they just featured on Live at 3RRR, they’re set to blow away The Sup’ at Golden Plains and they’ve just released their debut EP. It’s going to be a huge 2026 for Public Figures – and we can’t wait for them to hit The Sound Doctor stage for an all ages, alcohol-free event co-presented with Amplify.
Public Figures is the uncompromising project of longtime collaborators Evie Vlah and Gigi Argiro. This is punk with purpose: urgent, dynamic and impossible to ignore. Think earworms galore and songs that dive headfirst into identity, power and resistance, all delivered with explosive honesty and infectious energy. It has taken only a couple of big tunes for them to cut through, and there’s plenty more on the way.
Joined by the magnetic Lakota Vella on lead guitar and Mary-Lou Hylands on bass, Public Figures have quickly become a live force, packing out rooms and sharing stages with Shannon & the Clams (US), Magic Dirt, Gut Health and more. Now they’re headlining this special Amplify x The Sound Doctor show, which will also feature bands from Lorne School.
