While it feels like 2018 only just began, it’s getting hard to avoid the fact that December is creeping up. Though it is terrifying to think that another year has passed in a blink, it does mean that festival season is on the horizon and that pretty much makes up for it.
South Gippsland’s annual NYE On The Hill is set to make its return over the New Year’s weekend, offering a taste of what’s to come on this year’s lineup with the announcement that The Smith Street Band will be headlining the festival’s next 2018 instalment.
With a huge slab of hit singles to their name, including ‘Death To The Lads’, ‘Surrender’ and ‘Young Drunk’, you can pretty much guarantee a ticket to NYE On The Hill will involve belting out bangers with the other 2,699 punters at the festival.
Beloved for its small size and communal vibe, NYE On The Hill offers free camping, BYO alcohol and a whole lot of laidback fun. The full lineup is still to come, so keep your ear to the ground.
