Some bands never really leave us, they just take a really long break until fans demand their return.

Collingwood rockers The Sharp are making their comeback at Brunswick Ballroom on 25 October with a revamped lineup and support from Greg Arnold from Things of Stone and Wood. The three-piece that formed in 1990 and dominated Australian radio through the mid-90s is back with new energy, featuring original members Charlie Rooke on guitar and vocals plus Piet Collins on drums, alongside some heavyweight replacements.

The Sharp originally called it quits in 1995 after their gold-selling debut This is the Sharp spawned hits like Love Your Head and Scratch My Back, with the latter famously parodied by The D-Generation as Skivvies are Back. The band’s black skivvie uniform became as iconic as their sound during their five-year run that included ARIA nominations, magazine covers and extensive touring across Australia, Europe and the US.

With original bassist Allan Catlin stepping back for personal reasons, The Living End’s Scott Owen takes over double bass duties while Louie Lee Feltrin handles lead vocals. The reformed lineup promises to deliver all the classic hits plus some rocking covers and material from their new EP. Greg Arnold from Things of Stone and Wood provides support for what’s shaping up to be a proper rock nostalgia trip.

The afternoon show kicks off at 2pm with doors opening at 1pm and kitchen service available throughout. Multiple ticket options include general admission and premium packages with reserved seating and meals for those wanting the full Brunswick Ballroom experience.
