*Drifts off into a classic J.D. fantasy*…
After Zach Braff and Donald Faison, aka J.D. and Turk, launched their podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach + Donald last month, the Scrubs cast have blessed us once again. In an interview with NME, Sarah Chalke – aka Elliot – revealed that the gang are getting back together next month for a virtual reunion.
As it turns out, the Scrubs cast were originally planning to reunite for a panel at Austin’s ATX TV Festival in June, though with the event moving to a virtual format due to coronavirus, the Scrubs docs and nurses will be convening via video conference.
“We haven’t really hammered any of the details, but we’re probably going to be a panel chat, just everybody saying ‘hi’, and I’m sure most of the cast will be able to make it and [creator] Bill [Lawrence]. It will be fun,” Chalke told NME.
If you’ve been listening to Fake Doctors, Real Friends, which has seen Braff and Faison invite their former castmates including Chalke, Judy Reyes (Carla), and John C. McGinley (Dr Cox), as well as creator Bill Lawrence along to relive the glory days, you’ll know the reunion is going to be a very wholesome affair.
The occasion is likely to have a sombre air, however, with longtime castmate Sam Lloyd, who played Ted the lawyer, passing away late last month at just 56 years old after suffering from lung cancer and a brain tumour.
Members of the Scrubs cast paid tribute to Lloyd following his passing, remembering him as “the most wonderful person” and a talented, funny actor.
The Scrubs reunion is set to take place early June. Keep your eyes peeled for more details on when it will go down.
