US Grammy Award-winning hip-hop legends The Roots are set to bring their full live band to Australia for a much-anticipated tour in January 2025.

This East Coast tour marks the band’s first Australian headline tour in 12 years and will see them performing in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.

The Roots, renowned for hits like You Got Me, What They Do, The Seed (2.0), The Next Movement, How I Got Over, and The Fire, will be joined by special guests Talib Kweli (USA) and Melbourne’s own Grammy-nominated artist Nai Palm.

Formed in 1987 by childhood friends Black Thought and Questlove, The Roots have built a reputation as one of hip-hop’s most innovative and influential groups. With 11 studio albums to their name, the band has become a staple in the music industry, also serving as the house band for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon since 2009.

Special guest Talib Kweli, a Brooklyn-based MC known for his lyrical prowess and socially conscious messages, will also be gracing the stage. Kweli has made his mark with collaborations alongside Mos Def as one-half of Black Star, as well as working with iconic producers like Kanye West and Pharrell Williams.

Nai Palm, the three-time Grammy-nominated songwriter from Melbourne and frontwoman of Hiatus Kaiyote, completes the tour lineup. Known for her unique artistry and global appeal, Nai Palm has captivated audiences worldwide with her soulful music and innovative sound.
