October saw The Rions release their acclaimed debut album Everything Every Single Day, and they’ve been riding that wave hard ever since. Their national theatre tour saw them headline some of the biggest venues of their career, including sold-out shows at Melbourne’s Forum and Hobart’s Odeon Theatre. A headline run across the UK and Europe in November followed, before they returned home to close out the year. Now they’re ready to hit 18 regional dates coast-to-coast.

Something clicked early for The Rions. Winning triple j’s Unearthed High initiative in 2021 as high school classmates, bandmates Noah Blockley, Harley Wilson, Asher McLean and Tom Partington shot straight into national recognition. First EP Minivan arrived in 2023, followed by Happiness In A Place It Shouldn’t Be in 2024, which peaked at #4 on the ARIA Australian Album chart. Years of honing their songwriting craft and building their identity as one of the country’s leading indie acts set them up perfectly for a breakout 2025.

Live shows are where The Rions really shine. They’ve earned their reputation as one of the country’s most prolific touring acts, and regional circuits are familiar territory. Last year’s Happiness In Places tour covered 21 dates across the country, contributing to a massive 20,000 total headline tickets sold throughout 2024. Even with their debut album now out in the world, the band feel like they’re only just getting started, with plenty more action planned for the new year.
