Electro music group The Potbelleez have announced they will not be performing at a greyhound racing event later on this month.
In a Facebook post yesterday evening, the group said they’ve pulled out of the Million Dollar Chase greyhound race on Saturday October 20 in Sydney. The decision came after The Potbelleez briefly deactivated their Facebook account amidst a flood of online criticism for announcing their performance in the first place, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Since The Potbelleez’ announcement to pull out of the event, commenters on Facebook have mostly praised the band’s decision. Others haven’t been so keen on the idea.
“Time to return the favour everyone and help replace some of the income they have sacrificed for such an amazing cause. Go buy their music!” one commenter wrote.
Another said, “Hopefully they get someone with a backbone and a bit of talent to replace you”.
