Moon Dog are going big and they're going west!
Moon Dog have officially received the keys to their newest venue in Footscray – Moon Dog Wild West. For most Melbournians, the location might ring a bell as it is the old Franco Cozzo building.
In early March 2024, doors will open. Moon Dog Wild West is going to be twice the size of their already huge Moon Dog World venue in Preston. It will span across three levels, pour from over 100 taps, and fit up to 800 patrons.

The wild west theme flows throughout the whole venue, right from your first step through the swinging saloon doors. The adventure lies within and that is marked by the centrepiece bucking bull on the first floor. Horseshoe booths, a western arcade, the Kids’ Ranch and a barrel ageing room sit on the first floor.
On the second floor, patrons can enjoy the honky tonk bar, live music stage, pool tables, a jukebox, and a balcony outpost lounge. There’s also a secret Pianola Bar to be found. Juicy American BBQ bites on the menu will really put you in the wild west mood.
At last, the rooftop is a Western, desert dream, with the glorious Melbourne cityscape as a backdrop. A taste of Tex Mex on the rooftop and Moon Dog’s gastropub classics will tick all the needs of the Footscray venue’s patrons.
“With a venue of this size, we know we could achieve something that hasn’t been seen before and really go bigger than we ever have. We’re hoping to create somewhere for people to enjoy the outrageousness of it all,” said Joshua Uljans, Moon Dog CEO & Co-Founder.
Moon Dog Wild West will be located at 54 Hopkins Street, Footscray VIC. Not only is Moon Dog Wild West coming to town in 2024, they are set to open two more venues; Doglands will be opening on the Marvel Stadium concourse and will hold over 1,500 patrons, and they are in the works for a Frankston venue by the sea.
