The Moving Garden will feature 1,000 fresh flowers each day, and 106,000 flowers in total, for gallery-goers to pluck and hand over to strangers on the street.
The exhibition, a part of Asia TOPA: Asia-Pacific Triennial of Performing Arts, “inspires contemplation of social themes like trust and self-awareness”, said NGV Director Tony Ellwood.
The artist himself, Lee Mingwei, will also present a free talk about his highly acclaimed body of work.
