The Middle East meets West.
Townsville’s The Middle East will be parading their new album (itching to be unleashed and yet to be dubbed a title) on a festival and national tour this December.
The band has just released their first shiny new single Jesus Came To My Birthday Party that will appear on the album.
The Middle East has just come back from a long international tour in North America and Europe. Having returned to Ausralia just in time for the good weather, the band has apparently succeeded in experiencing summer all year round.
The band’s new album, said to be released by 2011, has been widely anticipated since fans first hear their celebrated 2009 album The Recordings of The Middle East.
The Middle East will be touring Australia on the following dates:
Falls Music & Arts Festival, Lorne, Victoria on Thu December 30.
Sun 9 January, Palais Theatre, Melbourne supporting The National on 9-10 January.
Toff Rooftop, Melbourne with Mountain Man on Mon January 17.
