The Melbourne start-up creating 100% biodegradable coffee pods

Pod & Parcel’s three founders – Ben Goodman, Elliott Haralambous, and Jai Felinksi – have been partnering with speciality roasters since 2016 to create Nespresso-compatible coffee pods. With their new plant-based pods, Pod & Parcel has produced a product that is biodegradable, compostable and can break down in approximately 180 days.

“With so much waste being produced, we knew there had to be a better way,” says Goodman. “Our message is simple: we want to provide the best tasting coffee in a Nespresso-compatible capsule, and we want to do it in the most ethical and sustainable way for Australia.”

The partnership with STREAT – an organisation dedicated to helping homeless and disadvantaged youth – will see every kilo of coffee consumed via the bio-pods go towards funding 15 minutes of training for a young person at STREAT.
