Melbourne Recital Centre presents new live event series, Haven

Haven

From July to September, the series will showcase musical performances that celebrate the joys of winter.

Kick those cold weather blues for good with this newly-announced music series hosted by Melbourne Recital Centre. Season Three: Haven will take place from July to September and will feature a wide array of performances, including riveting choirs, classical music legends, and some of the country’s finest artistic offerings.

The series draws inspiration from the Wurundjeri Guling season, which happens at roughly the same time. It’s a short-but-sweet moment when orchids bloom, rivers run high, and koalas bellow at night. With Haven, Melbourne Recital Centre hopes to offer showgoers a joyful moment of healing and reflection amid the winter chill.

Haven follows two previous seasons at MRC. Season One: Horizon is on now, celebrating long summer days and the beauty of the Australian landscape with folk artists, singer-songwriters and electronic pioneers playing until the end of March.

Up next is Season Two: Immersion, which will run from April to June, with a focus on times of change and growth; sunrises and sunsets.
