This Sunday October 7, Belleville hosts an exclusive screening of acclaimed documentary The Man from Mo’ Wax. Tickets are available on Eventbrite and are limited.
The documentary follows the events surrounding British label Mo’ Wax and its founder James Lavelle. Giving the audience a look into the background of an exciting era in British music, the movie focuses on the business that brought DJ Shadow, DJ Krush and Dr Octagon to the world. The film is made up of more than 700 hours of footage from thirty years and people from the industry. Expect to see footage of Lavelle, DJ Shadow, Massive Attack, Futura 2000, Grandmaster Flash, Ian Brown, Thom Yorke and more.
The screening is followed by an after party with Vee, Rintrah, JPS and Sean Deans. Meals are available from Belleville’s kitchen from 6pm and a bar menu continues until early Monday morning.
