The Lonnie Lighthouse is hosting a spectacular day party

Point Lonsdale Lighthouse

It's time for the ultimate summer day party underneath the faithful Lonnie Lighthouse.

There’s something incredibly intoxicating about Point Lonsdale, or ‘Lonny’ as the locals affectionately call it.

Located at the tip of the Bellarine Peninsula just 90 minutes from Melbourne and marking the dreamy entrance to Port Phillip Bay, the headland is dominated by the Point Lonsdale Lighthouse, which overlooks The Rip – a treacherous stretch of water where ships navigate the narrow gap between Point Lonsdale and Point Nepean.

Insta-famous for its striking skyline and the lofty views from the top, the iconic lighthouse will soon be part of the backdrop of an epic forthcoming Lighthouse Day Party.

Presented by Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club, Guts Touring, Borough of Queenscliffe and Gage Roads Brew Co., the fourth Lighthouse Day Party will take over the iconic Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club with an epic lineup featuring local legends like The Slingers, Vovo’s, Majak Door, Ella Sweeney, Numb Nuts, 3-Humps, among others, on Saturday, February 5 2022.

Tucked away off Lonsdale road, The PLBC clubhouse and adjoining ramshackle outdoor stage create an incredible live music atmosphere, perfect for an outdoor summer party. Set next to the Lonnie back beach, amongst the Moonah trees and at the foot of the Lonny lighthouse, this event is becoming a fixture on the Victorian live music calendar.

Co-presidents of the Boardriders Club Jackson Wylie and Max Lazarus along with Matteo Meirelles have been planning this show since the success of their last event in 2019, when 500 punters showed up for a party that people are still talking about. The boys are keen to create an event that targets the 18-35 age group in an area where access to live music is limited.

“We were fortunate enough to secure event sponsorship from the Borough of Queenscliff to hold the event. We have a really good working relationship with them and they are stoked that we are bringing young people to the Borough,” says Max Lazarus.

“We are also stoked to have Gage Roads Brewing as our Beer sponsor and Guts Touring organising all the music so it’s sure to be an epic night. Jacko and myself are really excited to be able to put the event on and we are stoked to have such a packed lineup organised. We can’t wait to see everyone in Lonnie under the picturesque lighthouse having a good time.”

This event follows Small Town Big Sound event at Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club back in April which saw the likes of Adelaidian rebel rock crew Bad//Dreems, supported by Melbourne cruisy alt-rock-poppers Floodlights and Gugu Yalanji, Jirrbal and Badu Island songwriter Kee’ahn perform in the small coastal town.

“The Small Town Big Sound show with Bad//Dreems, Floodlights and Kee’ahn was epic so it’s great to be working with Boardriders Club again to curate this show. Lonny is a beautiful town and it deserves a bit more live music!” says Jack Parsons, Guts Touring and the Pretty Littles frontman.

Lighthouse Day Party will take over Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club on Saturday, February 5 2022 from 1pm. You can purchase tickets here
