The Killers are playing a free Melbourne show this month

While The Killers were already set to headline the pre-game entertainment for the Grand Final, they have today announced that the Las Vegas rockers will also be performing a free concert following the match.

“I’m so pleased that The Killers have agreed to play on that one day in September as fans of all ages enjoy their music,” AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan says. “The Killers will bring their music to the Virgin Australia Pre-Game Show, but more importantly to the Virgin Australia Premiership Party, a free concert post-match, where all fans can join in and celebrate this year’s premiers.”

Fans without a ticket to the AFL Grand Final will be able to gain entry to the Virgin Australia Premiership Party via Gates 4, 5 and 6 following the conclusion of the match at 6.00pm, with the premiership presentation and The Killers’ set planned back-to-back for the evening.

With a new album set to drop the week before the Grand Final, you can expect The Killers to bring the heat for their first Melbourne show in nearly five years. In other news, a widespread Australian tour is expected sometime too.
