In a bold move to kick off this year's Australian Open, Canadian Club is set to transform Melbourne's skyline into a pulsating celebration of sport and sound.
The whiskey company has announced a free launch party featuring indie rock powerhouse The Jungle Giants, with media personality Abbie Chatfield hosting the celebrations.
Set against the backdrop of Melbourne’s Birrarung Marr, the Canadian Club Racquet Club will play host to what promises to be one of the summer’s most talked-about events. The January 12 spectacular marks the beginning of the tournament’s two-week takeover of Melbourne’s sporting and social calendar.

The Jungle Giants, fresh from dominating festival stages across the country, will bring their signature DJ set to the proceedings, promising to turn the tennis pre-party into a proper dance affair.
They’ll be joined by veteran party-starter Brooke Evers and Melbourne favourites Nite Theory, creating a lineup that spans from sunset well into the evening.
For those seeking that perfect social media moment, the Australian Open trophies will make special appearances throughout the night, offering punters a rare chance to get up close to tennis history. The dress code calls for “court couture” – think blues and whites with a party twist.
The launch party kicks off a broader Canadian Club presence at this year’s Open. Celebrating its 11th year of partnership with Tennis Australia, the brand is expanding its footprint with two distinct venues.
The Canadian Club Racquet Club returns as a free-entry destination for tennis enthusiasts, offering a relaxed viewing experience with ample shade and seating throughout the tournament’s duration.
Meanwhile, the Canadian Club Cabana Bar makes its comeback on Grand Slam Oval, providing a premium pit-stop for ticket holders seeking refreshment between matches. Both venues will operate for the full tournament run from January 12-26.
While the launch party is free, spots are strictly limited. Tennis and music fans are urged to register early to secure their place at what’s shaping up to be an unprecedented fusion of sport and entertainment atop one of Melbourne’s most distinctive locations.
Event registration is now open via the official website, with doors opening at 5pm for what promises to be an electric start to Melbourne’s summer of tennis.
