The debut album from the Scottish post-punk group, formed the Reid brothers William and Jim in the early ’80s, proved influential on both the forthcoming shoegaze genre and alternative rock, with acts including Nirvana, My Bloody Valentine among countless other appreciators.
They released a string of albums, singles and EPs between 1983 and their 1999 breakup. The band reunited in 2007.
Though the band have hardly performed over the last decade, The Jesus and Mary Chain have returned to stages this year to perform Psychocandy in full.
