The Intersection: Meet the Neighbour

Meet the Neighbour invites you to experience an “Intersection”—a space where you can connect with diverse stories and lived experiences. Our goal is to create an environment for genuine dialogue and open conversation. Through this active journey of empathy building, we dissolve stereotypes and reveal the rich, complex stories that counter dehumanisatioin. It’s an opportunity to connect with and learn from people of many walks of life, showcasing how empathy and connection can drive personal and social change. In an AMA-style panel, we invite you to bring curiosity over judgment and ask questions. Our panelists (Neighbours) bring lived experiences that may include homelessness, refugee status, or discrimination based on race, disability, gender, sexuality, or addiction.

The Intersection creates social change through educating about empathy, diversity and connection.

The Intersection is a Melbourne-based non-profit that drives social change through education on empathy, diversity, and connection. We deliver city educational experiences to over 12,000 young people annually, using story-based walks and interactive workshops to address social issues like homelessness, addiction, safety, and gender-based violence.
