The Glow Winter Arts Festival will illuminate Malvern East next month

Malvern’s Glow Winter Arts Festival is set to return this August to illuminate Malvern East’s historic Central Park with a host of outdoor installations each exploring the power of light and colour.

Now in its fifth year, the festival will bring a huge range of installations including The Laser Garden by Mandylights, involving thousands of green laser beams each changing with the night sky as patrons are invited to walk through the spectacular garden; Revive The Reef by S1T2 which presents a kaleidoscope of colour and sampled reef sounds to demonstrate the beauty and importance of The Great Barrier Reef; and Neon Glow and Neon Light by Carla O’Brien, each integrating oversized neon letters, umbrellas and the likes into the night.

Additionally, there will be displays incorporating music, literature and movement with Melinda Hetzel & Co’s Between The Trees exploring humankind’s’ connectivity to nature through music, plants and lights and Caroline Packham’s Anthropic Augmentation, a choreographed performance featuring handheld projectors to explore the imagined future memoir of the Yarra River.

The Glow Winter Arts Festival is a free event, inviting Melburnians to explore Malvern’s Central Park in a new light. Having tantalised the senses of patrons in the past, you can bet the immersive installations on show will provide an awe-inspiring experience.
