Music for the weekend sees a great line-up of local bands and DJs taking over the stage. Friday night will see DJ Dave Gray of Rocket Science fame hitting the decks, plus live music from Melbourne’s best Quentin Tarantino dedication band, The Tarantinos. Saturday night features DJ King 7 followed by a live performance from Benny Peters, while Sunday afternoon features DJ Patrick a Go Go followed by Americana heroes The ReChords.
The Gem has remained true to its Americana aesthetic since opening for business in 2006. With its wooden honkytonk interior, ranch-style furniture, and shrines to the memory of the late Elvis Presley. Not only has its publican Tonino Cordisco captured the warmth and friendly feel of the Southern American bar, he’s brought authentic Southern cuisine to the table too.
