The Espy is taking over Pollington Street for a three-day Grand Prix Street Party

Grand Prix Street Party
Words by Michael Pasahidis

The race of all races rolls around for another lap, and the Espy wants to party.

Start your engines and race to the Espy! The Grand Prix is once again upon us, and with it comes Hotel Esplanade’s inaugural Grand Prix Street Party.

On the weekend of March 22 to 24, St. Kilda’s Pollington Street will transform into a bustling hub of live music giving the noise from those neighbouring F1s a run for their money. Boasting a festival-esque line-up, live broadcasting of the races and even Daytona racing simulators, the Espy is poised to provide the perfect accompaniment to racing’s biggest weekend.

The Grand Prix will take place around the undeniably scenic Albert Park, which has recently been secured as the site for the event up until 2035.

The race spans across a weekend, during which droves of people flock to the city with the hope of catching a glimpse of the inconceivably quick Formula 1 cars, which can reach speeds in excess of 300km/h. Whilst we can’t promise an environment that fast-paced, laps of Pollington Street are set to be equally as fun-filled and exhilarating.

With free live music promised every day after 6pm, the Epsy’s Grand Prix street party is clearly the place to be. If you’re worried about missing out on the actual races, they’re only a 15-minute walk up the road so… don’t be! It really will be St. Kilda’s weekend.

Music will be free, beers will be cold, and cars fast. Alongside these free shows, there are also ticketed events from Client Liaison and Darude in the Espy’s iconic Gershwin Room. Tickets are limited and hot property, so get in quick!

Tickets for these shows, and more from the Gershwin, can be found here.
