Cult anti-folk icons to deliver one last dose of bittersweet melancholy.
The UK’s biggest anti-folk punks Crywank are gearing up for one final tear-soaked jaunt across Australia, marking the end of a glorious era.
Following their previous Aussie expeditions in 2017 and 2019, the cult favourites have weathered a pandemic-thwarted world tour, a temporary split, and a reinvention with newest member Guard Petal joining on bass duties. They’ve even unofficially smashed a world record for most cities performed in during a single day – properly committed to the cause, these lot.

Now, after more than a decade of crafting their uniquely raw, heart-on-sleeve tunes laced with pitch-black humour, Crywank are bringing their signature brand of emotional catharsis down under for what’s being billed as the last hurrah.
The farewell tour promises a hefty serving of fan favourites alongside deeper cuts from their extensive back catalogue. Fair warning: the setlist is reportedly 80% sad, so pack tissues and prepare for the inevitable emotional breakdown – though punters are strictly reminded that no actual wanking (in the physical sense) will be tolerated at venues.
Despite their deliberately provocative moniker, Crywank have built a devoted global following through their unflinchingly honest songwriting and DIY ethos. The band’s sound, which deftly navigates the territories between frail acoustic vulnerability and ragged punk energy, has resonated with the perpetually heartbroken and existentially confused since their 2009 inception.
The return of Guard Petal – a frequent collaborator now upgraded to full-time member – brings fresh energy to the band’s final chapter, adding new dimensions to their stripped-back arrangements while preserving the emotional gut-punch that fans have come to expect.
For devotees of the anti-folk scene, this tour represents a Crywank in action one last time and to participate in a collective farewell to a group that has soundtracked countless bedroom breakdowns and 3am existential crises for over a decade.
Support acts are yet to be announced.
