Melbourne’s iconic live music venue, the Corner Hotel in Richmond, has announced the much-anticipated return of the Corner Award in 2024 after a four-year break.
First launched in 2016 and presented by presented by Corner Hotel and Oztix, the Corner Award celebrates Australia’s emerging musical talents. Previous winners include Sampa the Great, Cable Ties, Baker Boy, and Electric Fields.
This year, the award will feature two categories: the Main Award, selected by a panel of industry veterans, and the Fan Favourite, chosen through a public vote. The panel has nominated 10 artists, representing a vibrant cross-section of Victoria’s music scene, and reflecting the future of Australian music. The nominees will be announced on Wednesday, 18 September at 10am, with public voting running for seven weeks until 3 November. Winners will be revealed on Thursday, 14 November, 2024.
