It’s the middle of summer over in the TV and film capital of the world, which means there’s some killer summery stuff coming to the big and little screens to warm our cold winter hearts.
This month we’re excited about part two of a viral series, the next instalment in the Marvel universe, and even a black and white new release.

Stranger Things 4: Volume 2
Yes, it’s time. The show that’s been taking the world by storm is finally dropping their second part next month. It’s set to get darker, creepier, and a lot more fun. Volume 2 is made up of 2 episodes, and they’re set to be bloody long – one at 85 minutes, and the closer will be a whopping 150 minutes. It hits the streamer on July 1.
My Name Is Gulpilil
Netflix is celebrating all things NAIDOC, with a bunch of First Nations shows and movies coming to the service. One of the most important movies is My Name is Gulpilil, hitting Netflix on July 3. As the name suggests, it’s all about the life of renowned Aboriginal actor, David Gulpilil.

Red Rocks is one of the coolest venues across the world, artists such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix and U2. Nowadays, they’ve moved into the comedy world, recently with comedy icon Bill Burr hitting the stage for a Netflix special. It’ll be making its way to the streamer on July 12.
Some other notable July Netflix additions include The Rugrats Movie, Blown Away: Season 3, and Virgin River: Season 4.

Legally Blonde + Legally Blonde 2: Red White & Blonde
It’s the movie that made Reese Witherspoon a household name and found many fans across the globe. It’s since had the musical treatment, and rumours of a third instalment in the series. Catch up on what happened to Elle Woods in the first couple when it hits Amazon Prime on July 1.
Belfast
It’s only just been in cinemas and is already hitting streaming. The critically acclaimed movie stars icons like Dame Judi Dench and Jamie Dornan. It’s hitting the service on July 11.
Pitch Perfect 3
Bringing acapella to the mainstream seems like a tough feat, but the Pitch Perfect series effortlessly brought a bunch a fans to the genre. The third movie included songs like ‘Toxic’, ‘Sit Still, Look Pretty’, and ‘Cheap Thrills’.
The Terminal List
The Terminal List is a new show hitting Amazon Prime, and it’s got a killer plot with an equally killer cast. It’s about a Commander who has his SEAL team ambushed. It stars Chris Pratt, Constance Wu, Riley Keough, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, among many more.
On top of that, July sees 21 Jump St, 22 Jump St and Fifty Shades Darker hit Amazon Prime Video as well.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie
The Belcher clan recently got the big screen treatment with their comedy-musical-mystery movie. All your favourite side characters make an appearance, adding that special something that makes Bob’s Burgers such an iconic show.
Picket Fences
It was one of the most iconic shows back in the day, and now it’s set to grab a heap of new fans when it heads to Disney+ very soon. The entire 4 season run will be hitting the streamer on July 13.
Copycat
The 1995 psychological thriller isn’t for the faint of heart, prepare to get all types of scared. Copycat brings stars like Sigourney Weaver, Harry Connick Jr, Dermot Mulroney and many more to the screen when it comes to Disney+ on 22nd July. Disney+ July roster will also see Deck the Halls, Don’t Say a Word, and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series – Season 3.

Your favourites are back, well sort of. Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin is a reboot of the original series that won so many fans across the globe. It’s not set to star anyone from the previous show, but will be set in the same universe.

Nude Tuesday
It’s the wacky movie that’s been getting a lot of buzz over the last couple of weeks. With a recent nude screening of it at Lido, fans have been flocking to catch this interesting film. It’s about a couple who are going through a rut, and head to a nudist retreat in the hopes of saving their marriage – and yes, there’s a lot of full-frontal nudity.
Blade I, Blade II, Blade Trinity
With the new Blade heading to the Marvel Universe in a couple of years, get acquainted with the earlier iterations of the character with the trilogy that kicked it all off. It stars Wesley Snipes in the title role. Catch the three films on Stan from July 15.
Muriel’s Wedding
After some time on Netflix, Muriel’s Wedding is jumping ship to Stan, giving it the Aussie home it needs. A whopping 25 years since its release, the movie still finds fans, and has even seen a recent musical version.

Thor: Love and Thunder
Everyone’s favourite god is back. After his journey in Avengers: Endgame, Thor is back and ready to get back to battling villains. The movie also sees Natalie Portman, Russell Crowe, Tessa Thompson and Chris Pratt appear.
The Villa
The Villa is French film that’s heading to some select Melbourne cinemas next month, and is one of the coolest premises for a movie in years. It involves an ex-con working at a retirement home after his release. It stars Gerard Depardieu, and is set to hit cinemas on July 1.
The Gray Man
This is actually a Netflix movie, but like so many films from the streaming giant, it’s getting a dual release in cinemas too. It stars Ryan Gosling, Rege-Jean Page, and Chris Evans, so you know it’s set to be good.
Where the Crawdads Sing
If you’ve seen a movie in the last few weeks, there’s no doubt you’ve seen a trailer for Where the Crawdads Sing. Based on the bestselling book of the same name, the film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, is produced by Resse Witherspoon, and includes a new song by Taylor Swift.
