Including previously unreleased recordings.
The Beatles are celebrating 50 years of Abbey Road by unveiling a number of remastered box sets for hardcore fans.
August 8, 1969 marked the day John, Paul, Ringo and George stepped out onto Abbey Road to take that iconic photo. Since then, every man and their dog has attempted some kind of tacky re-creation of the shot.
The super deluxe box set comes complete with three CDs and a Blu-ray disc full of remastered tracks. The album’s 17 songs have been newly mixed and engineered straight from the original eight-track session tapes. The box set also comes with 23 sessions recordings and demos, most of which are unreleased.
Alongside the music, the super deluxe box set includes a 100-page book with a foreword from McCartney, session notes, unpublished photographs, copies of handwritten lyrics and an essay from music journalist David Hepworth.
The Abbey Road box sets will be available Friday September 27. For more info, head to The Beatles’ website.
