The Avalanches will bring fourth album No Bad Memories to Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney across February and March 2027.
The Avalanches are dusting off the record crates for six Australian shows across February and March 2027, HAAi in tow.
The Melbourne-formed trio, presented by Takumi, will play Perth Festival, Adelaide’s Hindley St Music Hall, the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne, On The Banks in Brisbane and the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. It marks the return of one of the country’s most quietly influential electronic acts, a group that spent more than 25 years reshaping what sampling and collage could do.

After their first Perth Festival date sold out fast, The Avalanches added a second show at East Perth Power Station, handing fans another shot at getting in the room. London-based, Australian-born artist HAAi joins the run on the east coast dates, bringing the tempo-shifting club sets that have carried her from Coachella to Glastonbury. Her 10-track record DIGITiSE lands 9 October via Mute Records.
The tour arrives during a busy stretch for the band, who drop their fourth studio album No Bad Memories on 16 October after a steady run of singles. This year they’ve shared Together, Every Single Weekend, Blue Shadows, Can’t Get Over Losing You and Far Away, pulling in collaborators like Jamie xx, Karen O, John Glacier and Portraits of Tracy.
No Bad Memories digs back into the forgotten sounds of everyday life, turning old jingles, start-up chimes, obsolete hardware and audio logos into fresh material. Robbie Chater says the record started with rhythmic experiments built from the sonic leftovers of the technologies the band grew up with, with recordings of hard drives and computer parts working their way into the mix. The collaborator list runs deep, taking in Rivers Cuomo, Panda Bear, Ryoji Ikeda, Haruomi Hosono and Mike Patton.
The live comeback has been building for a while. The Avalanches recently played two sold-out nights at London’s Roundhouse to more than 6,000 people, appeared at Primavera Sound Barcelona, and threw a surprise Club 77 show in Sydney that had punters lining the footpath outside the tiny Darlinghurst venue.
