First up will be The Reef, a collection of surfing footage with music provided by the Australian Chamber Orchestra. The Reef is the idea of Artistic Director Richard Tognetti who took a crew of surfers, musicians and filmmakers to Ningaloo Reef. There, they spent two weeks creating music, film, and surfing in an attempt to correlate the connections between surfing culture and music.
Barry Humphries with Meow Meow will be a time-warp. Humphries, a lover of classic music, willconduct his favourite pieces from the Weimar Republic while cabarte performer Meow Meow entertains the audience. Definitely an appropriate combination, Barry Humphries will be shown during May next year.
Finally, The Crowd. In collaboration with cinematographer Jon Frank, Tognetti and the ACO capture the de-individualisation, power and body of the crowd. It is a montage of crowd behaviour from all aspects of life.
