The annual The Nightmare Before Christmas and Ed Wood pairing will take place on Monday December 22. As a bonus this year’s session will also include the real Ed Wood’s first feature film Crossroads Of Loredo.
Christmas Eve features the perfect anti-Christmas John Waters double bill. Polyester, the first film to bring Odorama (or Smellovision) to the big screen will have you making fun of all-American, heteronormative family values before dancing the evening away with a little bit of Hairspray.
Life Of Brian and Monty Python and the Holy Grail provide the perfect post-christmas wrap up, because Boxing Day wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of Monty Python.
The regular after-Christmas-but-before-New-Year double of It’s A Wonderful Life and The Shop Around The Corner will feature on Saturday December 27. Unfortunately they won’t be in their usual classic 35mm format, instead both will be screened on 2K digital format.
Sunday December 28 brings the classic titles to the Astor with The Brain Eaters and Cat-Women Of The Moon. All the ’50s sci-fi hilarity in its 35mm print format glory.
