Artlands links the arts sector with the industries that export growth and innovation in a regional context and invites artists, organisations, businesses and philanthropists alike to participate in an essential dialogue, advocating for a model that is socially, artistically, financially and environmentally sustainable.
For the past 20 years, the biennial event Artlands has been providing a space for national and local speakers to share knowledge and spotlight Australia’s thriving and vibrant regional arts.
This year, the event will be held in Bendigo and Castlemaine over five days in October. The program has just been released, and features panels, sessions, poster rooms, workshops, conversations and special events, with more visual art projects on display than you can count of both hands.
The featured eight keynote presentations are:
Dhelkunya Dja – Trent Nelson and Rodney Carter
Taonga tuku Iho – Treasure handed down – Desna Whaanga-Schollum (New Zealand)
Turning the world upside down – Amanda Smethurst and Jenny Rutter (United Kingdom)
Out of bounds – Documenting contemporary Industrial landscapes – Sue Jane Taylor (Scotland)
