The $125 dining and entertainment rebate is back

From today, you can claim 25 percent back when you spend $40 or more at cinemas, galleries, live performances and dining in Victoria.

It’s back Victoria! The Victorian government has brought back its popular Dining and Entertainment Program, offering customers reimbursements of 25 per cent on eligible purchases across the state.

Building on the success of previous runs, the popular cashback scheme aims to make dining and entertainment more affordable for Victorians no matter where they live so they can eat, play and get cash back, encouraging more people to visit hospitality and entertainment venues across the state. This time though, the program is available any day of the week.

Victoria’s Dining and Entertainment program

  • Victoria’s popular dining and entertainment program has returned, giving Victorians up to $125 off their bill
  • The dining scheme is offering 25-per cent rebates on eating out across the state when you spent more than $40
  • Similarly, the entertainment program is offering 25-per cent rebates when Victorians spend $40 or more on eligible entertainment experiences including cinemas, live performances, museums, galleries and more

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

The Program, open from today, allows customers to claim 25 per cent cash back when they spend $40 or more enjoying the best our state has to offer.

Eligible purchases include meals at restaurants, cafes and pubs, tickets to live music or art performances, and entries into museums, galleries and amusement parks and can be made anywhere across Victoria and on any day of the week.

Customers can claim up to $125 cash back each and make multiple claims until they reach the cap.

So how do you claim your 25 per cent rebate?

  1. Customer pays for their entertainment experience in full and receives an itemised tax invoice or proof of purchase from the business
  2. Customer uploads their proof of purchase or tax invoice and their contact information, bank details, date and total bill amount via the secure Victorian Dining and Entertainment Program claim website here.
  3. The customer’s 25 per cent rebate is credited to their nominated bank account within five business days of their claim being approved.

In even better news, you don’t have to be a Victorian resident to make a claim – anyone with a valid Australian bank account who spends $40 or more in one transaction (including GST) can claim back 25 per cent cash back on their purchase.

The first round of the Program was launched in March this year and saw more than $32 million claimed in three months, with Hai Dai Lao, Dumpling Alley and Shanghai Red the most popular dining venues. Trips to the cinema and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Princess Theatre were the most popular entertainment choices.

The $25 million dollar Program is part of the Government’s $200 million Victorian Business Stimulus Package supporting local businesses and jobs and runs until 16 December 2022 or when funds are exhausted.
