Sublime interdisciplinary artist Mia Lovelock has shared a moving tribute to the Stolen Generations.
I don’t remember the day you were taken away, but I still feel it.
These haunting words from Lovelock capture the essence of her devastating new single Taken, the powerful first single from her upcoming debut EP Feathers.
The interdisciplinary artist delivers a deeply moving tribute to the Stolen Generations with Taken, which showcases her signature blend of alt-country influences and folk-pop sensibilities. Written as a voice for generational memory and survival, the track carries profound emotional weight through its raw lyricism and textured instrumentation.
Lovelock explores themes of inherited trauma and unbreakable family connections throughout Taken, with the song serving as both personal reflection and broader statement on truth-telling and healing. The upcoming EP Feathers continues this narrative, examining the emotional and cultural connections that link family, Country, and identity across time.
