words by staff writer

UK boy band Take That are returning to Australia & New Zealand for 'This Life On Tour 2024'.

British pop legends Take That has confirmed their triumphant return to Australia and New Zealand with the spectacular ‘This Life On Tour 2024.’ This marks the trio’s first live shows in the region since 2017, and they are set to bring their magnetic energy to seven dates across both countries for headline shows and special A Day on the Green dates.

Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, and Howard Donald will kick off the tour at Perth’s RAC Arena on Wednesday, 30 October, before venturing to mesmerising locations such as Peter Lehmann Wines in Barossa Valley, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena, and Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. The journey will then take a melodic turn through wine country, making stops at Hunter Valley’s Bimbadgen and Sirromet Wines in Queensland’s Mount Cotton. The final antipodean show will be a grand farewell at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Thursday, 14 November.

“We are so looking forward to coming back to Australia and New Zealand later this year, our first live shows over there since 2017! And we are honoured that Sophie Ellis-Bextor will be joining us. It’s going to be great to see everyone again and perform the songs from our new album This Life, as well as all the favourites, and a few surprises! Take That is renowned for their phenomenal live shows and massive productions, holding the record for the most performances at London’s The O2 with 34 headline shows. The band’s 2011 Progress tour broke box office records by selling over 1 million tickets in less than 24 hours, becoming the UK’s biggest tour and earning a spot on Billboard’s ‘Top 25 Tours’ list, ranking third worldwide.

In 2019, their 38-date sell-out Odyssey tour celebrated their 30th anniversary, playing to over 650,000 fans in 29 arenas and 9 stadiums.

Their ninth studio album, ‘This Life,’ released last year, soared to Number 1 on the UK’s Official Charts, becoming the biggest-selling album from a UK artist in 2023. The album showcases the trio’s exceptional musicality with beautiful melodies, soaring choruses, and sophisticated harmonies, marking a new era for the iconic British band.

Pop legend Sophie Ellis-Bextor, known for her early-2000s hit ‘Murder On The Dancefloor,’ will join Take That on their Australia and New Zealand tour. Riding the wave of a resurgence of her hit song, she continues to captivate audiences, and her inclusion in the tour promises an extra layer of excitement.

Sophie’s hit ‘Murder On The Dancefloor’ recently gained attention in the film Saltburn’s final scene, causing a chart resurgence and making it a must-listen once again.
