Are you both a dedicated Swiftie and an accomplished intellectual?
Then we’ve got just the thing for you. An aptly named Swiftposium is coming to Melbourne, happening mere days before the massive Eras tour finally hits our city.
Fans will come together to analyse the legacy, cultural value and influences of the one and only Taylor Swift. Academic researchers from all across the world will gather to share their work, touching on subjects including gender, fandom, popular culture, the music industry and more.

Here are a few of the suggested subjects: “I can read you like a magazine” (literary interpretations of Taylor Swift), “Cause baby, now we’ve got bad blood” (Taylor’s marketing strategy) and “I was so ahead of the curve, the curve became a sphere” (Taylor Swift as pop culture catalyst, prophet and mirror).
The Swiftposium is guaranteed to illuminate new perspectives for even the most educated Swiftie and get fans well and truly ready to watch Taylor live through a more critical lens. We’re expecting outfits pairing blazers with beaded friendship bracelets, and we’re here for it.
