Twangover is back for two twang-filled Sundays in February to help you nurse your hangover with a burger in one hand, a beer in the other, and a bloody great band to background it all. Shaky Stills will have you forgetting the demons you’re fighting in exchange for some good ol’ country tunes and a bit of hair of the dog.

It’s a one-man bonanza on the Beast’s stage this Thursday night with none other than Jungle Jim Smith taking over. Known for his ‘electrified swamp blues sorcery’, Jungle Jim’s magic lies in his soul-stirring shows and eccentric performances.

It’s a Valentine’s Day party, but not as you know it. The Beast is throwing a loved-up fest focusing on the one true love of all who enter the belly of the Beast: music. This Bandmate Blind Date is a chance for musos and bands to link up and swap digits, all in the hopes of finding their other sonic halves. A little birdie also tells us that there’ll be $8 schooners and $10 Beastie Boys on offer. So, go wild, you lovebirds.

It’s not Valentine’s Day without a dash of thrash. Wolfpack are paying a visit to the Beast to celebrate all things romance and punk too, of course. A 100% not-for-profit band, Wolfpack will be joined by fellow rockers and shredders Scud and Shock Victim. Leave the dinner date and romcom for any other night – Wolfpack are your only soulmates this V-Day.

Ezra Lee & His Boogie Woogie Band are exactly what they sound like. Think: rockabilly until the sun goes down. If you’ve got plans this Sunday, cancel them. Rollicking piano-driven proto-rock and blues at the Beast is where it’s at.

Self-described ‘Antipodean thug ‘n’ bung blues’ band Doggerel will be taking over the Beast this Thursday in February with not one but two electric sets. This is the kind of band that goes perfectly with a cold glass of whatever’s brewing, as well as a mighty burg.
