Sunset Sounds festival announces 2022 lineup, boasting a bunch of iconic Aussie acts

The festival is bringing the who’s who of classic Aussie rock (with a touch of ABBA) to the iconic Yarra Valley.

After a seriously hellish couple of years, the summer festival season we’ve all been waiting for is fast approaching and with that, Sunset Sounds has confirmed it will be returning for 2022, hitting Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley in February.

Celebrating the return of live music with a jam-packed day brimming with Aussie music royalty, among the beloved acts heading the bill are Daryl Braithwaite, Ian Moss, Kate Ceberano, Russell Morris, The Black Sorrows, and Richard Clapton.

What you need to know

  • Sunset Sounds Festival is returning this summer, going down on Saturday, February 26
  • The event will be headlined by iconic Australian singer-songwriters Daryl Braithwaite, Ian Moss, Kate Ceberano, Russell Morris and more
  • The festival will be held at Rochford Wines in the Yarra Valley

Keep up with all the latest festival news, reviews and interviews here.

Joining the aforementioned artists for the day of massive hits are singer-songwriters Ross Wilson, Thirsty Merc, Chocolate Starfish, Jack Jones and The Chantoozies while the day will be fittingly topped off with a sunset performance by ABBA tribute act, Bjorn Again.

Sunset Sounds is being presented by Empire Touring, and will have all the necessary COVIDSafe provisions in place – all the more reason to embrace the (hopefully) sunny, relaxed afternoon of live music. Festival organisers will work closely with and comply with all requirements of the public health authorities. If the show is required to be postponed, a postponement date will be announced and punters will be eligible for a full refund if they are unable to make the new date.

“It is so thrilling to once again – after what seems like an eternity – share a stage at the Rochford Wines Sunset Sounds concert with Ian Moss, Kate Ceberano, The Black Sorrows, Russell Morris, Thirsty Merc and more …. It is going to be so good,” headliner Daryl Braithwaite said of this year’s event.

“What an incredible feeling to bust outta the Covid gates with this mega lineup! I can’t wait to sing my proverbial ass off and be out in the sunshine amongst people and my peers. See ya soon,” adds Kate Ceberano.
