Missy Higgins

Missy Higgins leads the line-up, fresh from her acclaimed tour supporting her recent album, The Second Act. Released as “a kind of sequel” to her debut, The Sound of White, The Second Act explores Higgins’ journey as a musician and storyteller. Following her induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2024, Higgins remains a powerful voice in the Australian music scene, celebrated for hits like Scar, Steer, and Futon Couch.

John Butler

John Butler, another marquee name for 2025, brings his reputation as one of Australia’s foremost independent musicians. With well-known tracks such as Zebra and Better Than, Butler has performed at major festivals worldwide, including Glastonbury and Coachella. His most recent album, Home, debuted at number one on the ARIA charts, expanding his signature roots sound with a new musical approach.

Fanning Dempsey National Park

New to the SummerSalt line-up is Fanning Dempsey National Park, a collaboration between Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey. Their debut album, The Deluge, showcases a fresh sound where synths replace guitars in an innovative blend of styles. With individual careers spanning decades and accomplishments including multiple ARIA awards, Fanning and Dempsey’s new project offers a unique sound for fans of Powderfinger and Something for Kate.

The Waifs

Also joining the line-up are The Waifs, who have spent decades building a dedicated following with their folk-inspired, independent sound. Known for their hits Lighthouse and London Still, The Waifs continue to draw fans both in Australia and overseas.

The Whitlams

The Whitlams, fronted by Tim Freedman, bring their distinctive piano-driven sound to the festival. Famous for their song No Aphrodisiac, which won ARIA’s Song of the Year, The Whitlams remain a staple of the Australian music scene. Freedman, who has recently released new albums Sancho and Kookaburra, will showcase their latest work alongside classic tracks.

Josh Pyke

Josh Pyke rounds out the festival’s line-up, celebrated for his warm melodies and lyrical storytelling. Pyke’s career includes hits like Middle of the Hill, multiple ARIA wins, and a well-earned reputation as a contemporary Australian singer-songwriter.
