Suicidal Tendencies return to Australia and New Zealand with headline shows during their Metallica tour stint.

Exactly two years since their last visit, Suicidal Tendencies return in late 2025 with a series of firsts, which is not something often associated with a band well into their fifth decade. The hardcore punk legends will be in Australia as special guests on the monstrous Metallica M72 tour along with Evanescence, but the Suicidal crew will be filling their off days with a series of potent headline shows in selected cities.

The 2025 tour marks several significant milestones for Suicidal Tendencies. The band will debut their first new single in seven long years with Adrenaline Addict featuring Nisha Star from Australia. These will also be their first shows in Australia and New Zealand to feature Jay Weinberg on drums, and their first shows in Auckland and Perth since 2018.

The current lineup includes founding member and vocalist Mike Muir alongside guitarists Ben Weinman from The Dillinger Escape Plan and Dean Pleasants, bassist Tye Trujillo, son of Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, and drummer Jay Weinberg.

Support on all shows will be Big Noter, the brand-new project from Australian hip-hop icon Briggs. Trading hip-hop beats for guitar riffs, Big Noter represents a sonic return to the heavy sounds Briggs grew up on, tapping into his hardcore, punk and metal roots with a full live band. Working with acclaimed engineer and producer Nick Didia, who has worked with Rage Against The Machine, Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen, Big Noter is set to drop their debut album in 2025.

Hailing from Venice, California, Suicidal Tendencies was the brainchild of Mike Muir, younger brother of original Z-Boy and Dogtown Skateboard founder Jim Muir. The band emerged in the early 80s, infusing the essence of skating, surfing and the Dogtown scene with a new style of hardcore that forever changed the punk and metal landscape. They blended punk, metal and hardcore into something entirely new: skate-punk-thrash.

Over the past five decades, Suicidal Tendencies has evolved into a raging beast with multiple Gold records and Grammy nominations. Their legacy has earned them a prestigious spot in the Skateboard Hall of Fame, cementing their impact on both music and culture. The band’s ranks have featured incredible talent over the years, including Robert Trujillo, Thundercat, Josh Freese and Brooks Wackerman.

Tickets for Australian shows go on sale Thursday, 17 July at 10am local time, while New Zealand tickets go on sale Thursday, 17 July at 12pm local time.
