Melbourne-based artist Morano has taken up residency at independent artist-run gallery Let’s Pretend, with his curation of captivating works from now until July 1.
Evoking Morano’s dynamic style, expression and composition, Studio Works by Morano is an explosion of colour, where human subjects merge with urban scenes, and surprising distortions, juxtapositions and augmentations prevail. Studio Works draws from the artist’s experience of growing up in Barcelona in a working-class suburb, hemmed by industrial estates. Removed from the natural world, drawing and painting emerged as Morano’s tools for self-exploration and expression.
