Tell us about the history of Cranbourne Music.
Cranbourne Music is a family-owned business opened originally in Cranbourne in 1989. Opened by Michael and Roslynn Coleman, the company now employs over 20 staff including the entire Coleman family. We have grown from one small store in Cranbourne, to now having one very big store in Cranbourne, one store in the CBD and we’re also one of Australia’s largest online music equipment retailers.
What are the main brands and musical products Cranbourne Music specialise in?
We carry a wide range of MI products and offer all the main brands. We are Melbourne’s largest dealers of Yamaha and Fender. We also have a lot of love for Maton, Taylor, Gibson, Schecter, Vox, Roland, Boss, to name just a few. We’re now also stocking Duesenberg guitars, which are awesome.
What are the stores top brands and why do you think they are so popular amongst Cranbourne customers?
Fender and Yamaha are our top brands. Everyone loves Fender. We certainly do, and so do our customers. Whether it’s a Strat, Tele, Jag, Jazzmaster, bass or their amplifiers, they’re everywhere in music, from past to present.
What manufacturer is really exciting the staff at the moment tech wise and why?
When it comes to Yamaha, nobody builds such a wide range of quality musical instruments. We stock and sell their acoustic and electric guitars, pianos, drums, keyboards, brass and wind, as well as their computer audio interfaces that are really well made and utilise state-of-the-art technology.
What is Cranbourne Music’s point of difference?
Our online store has the largest range of products and spare parts of any website in Australia. Since February, we’ve added over 5000 new items to our online offering. We also pride ourselves on great customer service.
