Boots on, double-denim out: a Nashville classic is getting the full-album treatment in Melbourne.
Dust off the cowboy boots, because Forty Years of Guitar Town is rolling into Brunswick Ballroom this November.
Forty Years of Guitar Town marks four decades since Steve Earle put out his 1986 debut album, a record that topped the Billboard country chart, earned Grammy nominations and won the Rolling Stone Critics Poll. Now Shane Nicholson and Duncan Phillips are fronting a tribute, joined by a band featuring Brad Christmas, James Gilligan, Craig Kelly and Matt Gibson.

The aim is to recreate the album exactly as it first appeared, running from the opening title track through to Down the Road, with no rearranging and no shortcuts along the way.
Once the album has been played in full, the band will head back out with special guests Katie Brianna, Van Walker, Freya Josephine Hollick and Kim Volkman.
That second set pulls together songs that have stayed in rotation for Steve Earle fans across four decades, with deep cuts, duets and a handful of favourites all expected.
It all goes down at Brunswick Ballroom, with doors at 6pm and the show kicking off at 7:30pm.
