Startime

Star/time celebrate the release of their live-to-tape LP “Like an owl exploding” with a psychic focusing of the energies within at Nighthawks on May 5th, 2023, featuring invités spéciaux DBPB (Dave Brown & Philip Brophy) and Children of the Ultra-Void.

Patrick Patano (ex-drummer from the influential US garage rock band ‘Dirtbombs’), brings together a 7 piece improvisational collective who owes as much to the electric period Miles as the garage punk its players came from. Appropriately taking their name from both a James Brown record and a Sun Ra record, Star/time has evolved to its current state merging free jazz and experimental noise sonics with no wave, prog jams, funk and fusion to create a vibe alternately hypnotic and disturbing. The band members are established psych and experimental noise makers in Australia and abroad.

DBPB is an abbreviated lineup of Turret Truck, featuring Dave Brown (Bucketrider, Candlesnuffer) & Philip Brophy (from legendary experimentalists → ↑ →) (&, of course, the director of Body Melt).

Children of the Ultra-Void™ is a collective entity here to facilitate your transition into the highest realms of everlasting ephemerality with Ultra-Pathic Sound Treatments, (U.S.T.s).

The Star/time LP will be available on the night, or can be obtained right now at various record shops, and online at https://startime.bandcamp.com/album/like-an-owl-exploding
