The project, which has run for four years already, encourages indigenous Australians who have been incarcerated or are currently imprisoned to create artwork for the exhibition. CONFINED is a key feature to Melbourne’s oldest annual Indigenous cultural festival: Yalukit Wilum Ngargee. CONFINED serves as a therapeutic release for the individuals, giving them the chance to express their ideas and thoughts beyond prison bars.
