Aside from also affecting a lot of people who didn’t want to go to Splendour and just wanted to use some money (sometimes we live in a bubble), Westpac’s ridiculous meltdown yesterday managed to crash the Splendour site and piss off a lot of hungry punters.
Westpac officially told the news that an air conditioning malfunction had somehow crashed the bank (why is your server in your air conditioner, Westpac?) which of course also crashed Credit and Debit cards for Citibank, Suncorp, St George, Heritage Building Society, Cashcard and Jetstar cards.
Splendour tried to deal with the kerfuffle by suspending ticket sales at 9pm last night so they could re-check things before re-launching ticket sales this morning at 9am.
I’m sure that everyone who got home last night and hoped that things were fixed and they could finally buy their fricking ticket was happy about the suspension… And ticket organisers are worried that many have given up in frustration.
