Byron Bay is calling your name.
In addition to summer being a ripper season for music festivals, it’s also the season of festival announcements. Yesterday was Groovin the Moo’s lineup. Today, it’s Splendour in the Grass, announcing this year’s festival will be held between Friday July 19 to Sunday July 21 at its home ground of North Byron Parklands.
No lineup for the Byron Bay has been dropped yet, but rumours are starting to circulate that Tame Impala might be the headliner. According to AAA Backstage, Tame Impala’s recent addition to a bunch of international festival lineups, including Coachella, leave a very convenient July gap for the band. Interesting.
Last year’s lineup saw Kendrick Lamar, Lorde, Angus and Julia Stone, Gang of Youths and more take to the stage. The huge bill of acts was a sight to behold, so the bar has been set high for this year.
