Soothsayer is celebrating 10 years with a full day and night at Revolver, and presale access lands 29 September.
A decade deep and still refusing to behave, Soothsayer is taking over Revolver for a 24-hour birthday bender.
What began in a snug club room at Hugs and Kisses has since swelled to thousands packing out Sugar Mountain. Over 10 years, Soothsayer has bounced between intimate clubs, tucked-away rooms, sweaty warehouses and wide-open outdoor spaces, threading itself through Naarm’s after-dark scene and helping keep the underground ticking along the way.

To mark the milestone, the outfit is commandeering Revolver for a full rotation of the clock over the November long weekend. The Chapel Street institution has been central to the city’s nightlife for years, which makes it a fitting backdrop for a nonstop run that stretches from one day into the next.
The format is straightforward on paper and enormous in practice: one venue, one collective and an unbroken stretch of music from open to close.
The bill is stacked with names that read like a who’s who of the Naarm underground. Sleep D – the Frankston-raised duo behind the long-running Butter Sessions label – bring the hypnotic, hardware-driven blend of house, techno and acid they’ve spent 15 years perfecting, while A Colourful Storm boss Moopie folds crate-dug oddities into the kind of sets that have carried him from local clubs to Dekmantel. Cosmic disco outfit Wax’o Paradiso roll in with a decade of open-air parties behind them, veteran selector DJ JNETT delivers the soul and low-slung grooves she’s been schooling floors with for years, and Animalia founder Kia rounds out the heavy hitters with her psychedelic, techno-leaning pressure.
That’s before you reach the rest of an 18-act cast built to fill every hour of the marathon. Longtime Melbourne mainstay Boogs sits alongside Ed Kent, Colette and a jungle set from JPS, while Mikalah Watego, Claire O’Brien, C.Frim, Daws, Prizefight, Roka, Trustee, Caucasian Opportunities and the tag team of Myles Mac & DJ Possum each take a turn at the controls. The whole thing leans local and deep rather than banking on one imported headliner, which fits a party stitched together from the friendships and collaborations Soothsayer has gathered since 2016.
The bill pulls together local artists old and new who have crossed paths with the collective over the years, from close friends to longtime collaborators and the selectors who helped shape its sound across the past decade.
Presale opens 29 September at 12pm, with early access on offer to anyone who signs up ahead of the general rush. The whole thing takes place on Wurundjeri land, with the team paying respect to elders past, present and future, and a nod to a scene that has kept Melbourne moving well beyond the last decade.
