Sondheim, Shakespeare and Britney Spears: The Round unveils its 2026 program

Words by staff writer

The Nunawading arts centre The Round has announced its 2026 season, A Colourful Life.

Sixteen shows, one suburban arts venue and a program that spans everything from Shakespeare to Britney Spears? Sounds like a pretty solid year ahead.

The Round in Nunawading has unveiled its 2026 season, titled A Colourful Life, featuring a mix of theatre, opera, circus, music and cabaret across the year. The Whitehorse Road venue’s lineup includes tributes to Stephen Sondheim and Britney Spears, contemporary circus from acclaimed company Circa, and performances from Australian entertainers Rachael Beck, David Campbell and Nathan Cavaleri.

Mid-year highlights include Britney Spears: The Cabaret in July and Mozart’s Don Giovanni later that month. The season wraps up in October with Wolf by Circa, the Brisbane-based contemporary circus company known for their acrobatic storytelling.
